We believe in regularly scheduled, site-specific soil sampling because regular sampling is just as important as sampling during specific points during your crop rotation and at the same time each year. For example, if you are in a wheat—wheat—corn/milo—soybean rotation, it is advisable to take soil samples after the wheat but before moving to corn/milo in the fall. We recommend that all soil sampling be site specific to ensure that samples are taken in the same place every time, as no field is completely uniform. By ensuring we always sample in the same spot, we reduce variability and potential errors in the test results. Finally, we can compare site-specific samples to current soil tests and against historic soil test data, allowing us to more accurately evaluate your fertility program and whether or not you are building or mining residual soil fertility.
